This Turnkey System for cutting wire from Novo Precision http://www.novoprecision.com/products... is perfect for any wire cutting application with material from .002"- .250" diameter.
In this application the #2 Pneumatic Feed and Cut System is cutting .048" dia Stainless steel wire to .395" lengths. Wire is taken off spool using a custom Novo Fine Wire Payoff which regulates speed and tension on wire.
From the payoff, the wire is run through our custom precision wire straightener. A 4 plane straightener is used in this application due to material hardness. Straightener rolls can be grooved to accommodate different sizes of wire.
Straightened material is then fed through the reciprocating feed unit which is able to feed wire to the cutter head repeatably while holding a +/- .002" length tolerance. A quill on quill cutting process is used which results in a clean burr free cut while holding optimal straightness. For this job the machine was able to cut at a rate of 152 pieces per minute all while holding length and straightness tolerances. An easy to use touch screen interface allows the operator to control machine speed, batching quantities and part count.
