Novo Precision offers a variety of servo-based wire and strip processing and fabrication systems custom-designed to perform many application functions. These wire cutting machines result in a tremendously accurate and repeatable cut with feed rates in excess of 40 inches a makes it perfect for production. Secondary operations such as chamfering, stamping, angled cuts etc can be added on to any machine. Give us a call or fill out a contact form or RFQ with any questions.
Novo’s servo-based feed and control systems are equipped with either precise two-axis synchronized servo motors and a powerful CNC software and controls package, or a straightforward single-axis two-roll linear feeder with simple speed and length control software. We create custom systems by combining the best-suited drive type and software package and integrating other custom-designed or commercially available devices.
SF Series Systems
If your application involves fine diameter wire or narrow strip material and requires accurate positional control and the need to perform operations such as staking, marking, welding, forming, ablating, assembling, measuring, and inspecting, our SF2 Series servo feed system is the best choice.
This system allows material to be paid off from a bulk quantity, wiped or lubricated, straightened or flattened, fed in a particular direction at a particular speed, guided into and out of various stations and manipulated in order to complete certain processing/fabrication/assembly tasks automatically.
The Novo Precision series SF2 and SF3, incorporate the precision and speed of a servo drive along with a very advanced yet flexible operating software package that can also control the performance of many peripheral forming or processing devices.
The Advanced Software Package gives the operator CNC-like programming abilities to handle just about any application requirement. Only the Precision LD feed drive unit, with its dual synchronized and geared drive rolls, is used in the SF2 Series system.
The SF2 series servo-based system can accommodate very small diameter wire or narrow strip material (.007" to .070"/0.25 mm to 1.75 mm) and can precisely control any combination of direction, speed, or distance parameters required of the application. The SF3 is rated for larger size wire—up to 0.125" or 3.1 mm. The SF series systems may employ a tractor or dual-roll drive arrangement.
Programmable feed control (PFC) based systems are configured from several standard components to satisfy a specific set of application parameters with speed, accuracy and reliability, utilizing the most economical approach.
The PFC series systems are ideally suited for feeding and cutting long lengths of wire or narrow strip at fast rates. They typically employ a single motor; a single drive; a two, four, or six-roll feed box; and either the Basic or Standard controls and software packages. These systems can accommodate applications where the wire diameter may reach 0.250"/6.25 mm.
PFC systems can be integrated with other Novo Precision products, such as our precision wire straighteners, wire cleaning lubricator, and cutter head. Additionally, other commercially available devices such as a marking device, a dispenser, or an automatic bagging device and be added—this makes applications such as cutting to length; straightening; loop and cut; flatten, notch and cut to length; feed to length; stamping; and cutting easy to perform with one straightforward control and software package. Systems may also include motorized payoffs and a material wiping station as well as hands-free operation with the addition of various alarm sensors.
Wire Chamfering Unit
Secondary operations such as chamfering can be integrated into any of our Servo Feed and Cut Systems. These wire cutting machines are extremely versatile as they can be run with secondary operation or as a stand alone feed and cut system. The easy to use touch screen controls can change part lengths, batch quantities, throughput speed and deactivating secondary operation within seconds. The system can chamfer wire to desired angle and using our custom quill on quill cutting process all parts have a burr free cut with minimal deformation.
