Novo Precision offers wire payoff units specifically designed to the size of the wire being used, from the delicate control needed to avoid breaking fine wire to the extreme spool weight considerations of heavy wire. Wire payoffs can be designed for small wire(fine wire) or larger wire as well as customized for different speeds depending on your output needs, high speed payoff available. Novo carries a full line of wire decoilers and wire uncoilers. These Spectral System Motorized Payoffs are perfect for wire loading and wire unloading.
Fine wire (defined as smaller than .050”/1.25 mm in diameter), which is usually supplied on spools weighing less than 50 lbs., has more critical handling issues to contend with than larger wire sizes.
In many applications, precious metals smaller than .050” in diameter are used to make a large variety of parts. The payoff of such fine, precious, and many times “soft” or low-tensile materials can easily cause the wire to snap or stretch due an improper payout method, path, or resistance levels.
The straightening of fine wire can be hampered by not having the proper degree of back tension and direct travel path to the straightening device. The Novo fine wire payoff (FWPO) unit provides those features and several others that ensure that these wire types and sizes are paid off under precise control to almost eliminate the possibility of breaking the wire. The FWPO is available for trial evaluation.

Medium & Heavy Wire
Medium wire (usually larger than .050”/1.25 mm in diameter) and heavy wire (usually larger than .250”/6.25 mm in diameter) usually consists of stronger materials with higher tensile values, which can accommodate a much more rugged method of handling and needs less delicate controls.
Medium and heavy duty wire may be supplied in spools, coils, reels and tubular carriers. Coils and reels can sometimes weigh several thousand pounds. Our powered wire payoffs use a rotary potentiometer to control wire feed so as the payoff demands more wire, the payoff runs faster. This creates a constant tension making this the most efficient wire decoiler on the market.
