Manufacturing requires high efficiency, but small parts can be the root of big problems. Tangled springs slow production and disrupt workflow. The Tekda Spring Detangler from Novo Lean Solutions automates spring separation, removing a common bottleneck and improving line performance.
The Cost of Tangled Springs
Springs often tangle during storage and shipping, resulting in wasted labor and materials. Operators have two choices: 1. Take time to separate the interlocked springs or 2. Discard the springs and select new ones. Either option introduces waste into the production process.
Quillonquill cutting uses two opposing support sleeves (quills) to hold the material firmly on both sides of the cut. This dual support keeps the wire, strip, or tube stable at the exact moment the blade makes contact. By holding the material firmly from both directions, the system eliminates the micro‑movements that cause:
Burrs
Deflection
Wandering cut lines
Out-of-tolerance cuts
This stability is especially important when cutting small-diameter wire, flat parts, thin-wall tubing, or flexible materials that tend to move under load.
For 40 years, Novo Precision has built a reputation for excellence in formed wire components, precision machining and engineered systems. Now Novo has fine-tuned its expertise to meet the specific requirements of the thermal spraying industry, including wire sourcing, straightening and cutting to highly precise lengths.
