With the Colombi line of spring coilers byTekno-Detaljer AB of Sweden, the spring is made (coiled) right on the assembly line, saving all the cost associated with purchasing, shipping, storing, inspection, separating, and feeding the spring. This is accomplished by the employment of one of the several coiling systems offered by Colombi, which not only makes the spring but will inspect it, load test it, heat treat it, and deliver it in an oriented fashion directly to the assembly point on command.
There are several automatic spring coiler system types available from Colombi, including CNC-controlled models with correctional feedback and pneumatic-controlled coiling systems with mechanical cams.
